Beans, beans, the magical fruit ...the more you eat...

So....you are thinking that eating beans will give you gas?

Well, yes, gas can cause discomfort and actual pain, never mind the embarrassing noise, but once you understand the cause of gas, there are ways to be avoided it. Beans contain a kind of sugar called eligosaccharide and because we lack the enzyme to break it down this sugar reaches the lower intestine creating gas. The solution is simple, by cooking your own black beans you can avoid this problem. Soak them first before you cook them and drain the water allowing the sugar to leach out do this process a few times and cook the black beans slowly adding a pinch of baking soda.
